You must understand that when you are writing a novel you are not making anything up. It's all there and you just have to find it.

About This Quote

When I was in middle school I wrote a novel. It wasn’t anything special, but it was my first attempt at writing. My mother read it and told me I needed to write another one. I didn’t write another one for several years because my writing seemed so horrible.

Finally, when I was in high school, I found myself inspired to write another story based on the characters from the first book. When I finished it, my mother read it and said that I needed to write more. She couldn't believe that all of the characters were just made up.

She thought that they were real people who had lived across the country and left their mark on history.
