About This Quote

There is a famous line from the movie, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” In this quote, Helena is asking her father, Oberon, to grant her a wish. Her request is simple: she wants all of her suitors to disappear. In response to her request, Oberon grants her wish and sends all of the suitors running for their lives. However, when Helena wakes up from a dream in which Prince Theseus married Titania in the end, she knows that the dream must have been a false one. It turns out that in real life, Theseus did not marry Titania and Helena was left to find out for herself that happy endings don’t exist in fairy tales.
