Faith in the Bible is the vehicle by which we receive eternal life. It is a way of life whereby we encounter God and keep overcoming. In Hebrews 11, the writer uses the word faith in a number of ways. He talks about "faith," "belief," and "trust." Each time he talks about faith in this particular context, he is referring to a belief that a certain person or thing will happen.

So, in Hebrews 11:1, he talks about faith as a belief in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose again three days later. "Faith" is also God's gift to us. Hebrews 11:6 says that faith is the connecting link between the Old Testament and the New Testament, because without faith we can't be saved by grace through faith (Romans 4:5).

Faith enables us to claim the promises of God, but it also enables us to obey God's commands. Faith is also what keeps us going when we face tough times and challenges. Faith does more than just help us survive; it yields abundant life for all who believe (James 2:17-18).
