It is one that has led to a lot of violence and death. It is a philosophy that says that if someone is an enemy, you can kill them because they deserve it. You can even say that you believe the Bible when it says to "love your enemy" but then turn around and kill them when it doesn't really matter which enemy you're talking about.

This idea comes from a misunderstanding of what true love looks like in action because it does draw distinctions between enemies. Love can't be indiscriminate and say "hey, I'm going to love everyone". Love must make distinctions at some level for it to be truly effective.

The Christian idea of loving your enemy includes a belief that you can forgive those who have wronged you and turn them into allies by forgiving them too, as Jesus did for us after he was betrayed by Judas Iscariot.
