In the movie The Fighter, Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale) are both fighters. Both men have a lot of personal issues that they'd like to solve and both men spend their time training and working to achieve their goals. However, the end result is that they both end up facing life-threatening illnesses. When Ward's cancer takes hold of his body, he fights for his life against Eklund as well as other members of their gym.
