Uncontradicting solitude Supports me on its giant palm; And like a sea-anemone Or simple snail, there cautiously Unfolds, emerges, what I am.

About This Quote

A sea anemonefish is a common fish found in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. It grows to a diameter of 8 inches, but its length is about half that. Sea anemonefish have a prehensile tail that they use as a lure to attract prey. They have a long body that is covered with a fold of skin called a hood.

Their behavior is often labeled as “solitary,” but it’s not the typical kind of life of an anemonefish. Sea anemonefish can actually be quite social and aggressive, and they are able to actively hunt for food. In their natural habitat, sea anemonefish normally live among dense patches of algae on the ocean floor.

They do not swim around in open water, but instead choose to rest on the rocks by themselves.
