I was afraid, sheer afraid, and wondered at myself. You see, I've no more pluck than any man of my inches but I'd been about a good bit. I'd seen adventure and heard other fellows talk it over, and I knew you're pretty sure to get out of everything with a whole skin till that last particular time that you don't - so what's the use of grizzling? About This Quote

Golden Baby. Written by American actress Gertrude Lawrence in 1907, this classic tale of a girl in peril in the Wild West in 1876 is one of the most popular stories ever told. The story chronicles how a young girl, Helene, saves her younger sisters when they are kidnapped by Comanche Indians. Helene braves the dangerous journey into Indian territory in search for her brothers, but when she arrives she finds that both are already dead.

She then has to face the Comanche warriors. She is captured and tortured by them for many days and nights; but she is eventually rescued by two brave cavalrymen who had followed her trail from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
