Michael CritchtonCure the symptoms, cure the disease.
About This Quote
We all start out with a finite amount of energy that we can use to accomplish our goals. Once that energy is gone, it’s gone. When we cure the symptoms, however, we cure ourselves of a lot of pain and suffering. It’s not uncommon for people who have been battling a disease to take a long time to feel better because their body still isn’t completely healed, so they have so much damage to repair from the disease.
With this in mind it seems like a waste to cure the symptoms and not the disease itself, but it’s not always so simple. We all have different types of symptoms that come with a disease, and curing just one symptom doesn’t necessarily mean that we have cured the entire thing.
