About This Quote

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us.

And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky. The quote is from a book called The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and the author of the quote is William Kamkwamba. William Kamkwamba lived in Rwanda where he grew up during a time of immense civil war and violence.

At fifteen years old he was spotted by a BBC cameraman and asked to help harness electricity from the wind that was blowing throughout his village and across Africa. The BBC filmed him doing this and he became an overnight sensation in his native country of Rwanda where was dubbed "The boy who harnessed the wind."
