About This Quote

The end of this quote is a tragic story. Somebody is dead, and his nurse says he seems to be feeling better. He then dies. I'm sure this will sound like a morbid joke to most of you, but it's actually a fair bit more serious than that.

It's not funny because it's morbid, but because it shows how true the rest of this sentence is. When someone says they are feeling better after being sick, they are lying through their teeth. You can never tell if someone is better or worse off than they were before.
