In the Christian faith, the fundamental idea is that sinners can be saved. In fact, Jesus Christ himself was a sinner and died for people who were sinners. Some people might argue that because of the power of sin in the world, we should not even try to be saved. They say it is a hopeless task to help us understand our own failings and how we can be forgiven.
The Apostle Paul also made a similar argument in his letter to the Romans. Forgiveness, however, is a gift from God. Through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection from the grave, God forgives us and wipes away all of our sins.
If we believe in what Jesus did for us, we will also believe that we too can be forgiven by God and rise up every time we fall down.
