What do you see when you look at me?” My eyes narrowed and I pressed my lips together, weighing my thoughts. All of his bimbo admirers aside, what did I see? What did my gut tell me about this man? What did it say that allowed me to wind up here with him, under such impulsive circumstances?“ You’re a sad man, ” I swallowed. “You’re arrogant and set in your ways, but that creates a fortress for you. It’s your safe haven. Behind the moat is someone who has lost something he loved, only I’m not sure what, or who. You’re afraid of something and your loyalty is hidden away in a cell, wounded by betrayal.” I rested my head on the pillow. “That’s what I see.”“ On second thought, ” he exhaled, letting his head drop next to mine. “You’re psychic. About This Quote

In the book "Psychic", by Maryse J. Gauthier, a young girl named Lissa is able to see what people are thinking and feeling by touching their hand. Lissa has been trying for years to communicate with the dead, but it's never been until she bumps into a mysterious stranger that she starts getting answers from the world beyond. The book is a fast read, but you will be able to learn a lot about the mind and how thoughts can change everything about who you are and can also be used as a therapeutic tool. I liked reading about the psychic abilities of the main character as her ability to find out so much about other human beings by touching them gave you a sense of empathy towards all those who have abilities such as this. When I read the book I couldn't help but think of those people who have been brought up in isolation from society for different reasons, it's sad how some people have to live their lives in a bubble not being able to interact with others, but then I thought that maybe that's what makes us special and makes us better than those 'normal' people who also have these abilities. The book was pretty interesting and I found myself relating to Lissa's problems as she didn't understand why people didn't want to talk to her or why they were always trying to touch her hand when she was around them. I liked reading about Lissa's ability as it showed that even though many people may think that they don't need this ability or that they can't use it they can use it in the same way as Lissa uses her ability which is through touch.

This helps me to understand how Lissa feels because sometimes I feel like I'm not important or even like I'm like everyone else, everyone likes me but no one wants me or talks to me which is quite upsetting because this has happened before when I've had friends they just ignore my existence which is quite rude especially when my friend is always saying they're there for me whenever I need them. Although this book is quite different from most books that are on my TBR list it still has captured my attention and I would recommend this book if you're looking for something mentally stimulating! __________________________________________________ __________ This post was created by posting on Digg.
