The band is famous for their song titled “One step closer” which is about people who are depressed enough to commit suicide. The lyrics of this song are very meaningful and can be interpreted in many ways. For example, they could be saying that if someone wants to kill themselves then the person will get the most satisfaction out of doing so when they are near death.
They will feel that it is the only way to escape their pain and by death they will finally be free to escape this world forever. Or, they may just be saying that they would die happy if they died by suicide, because by dying they will save everyone else the trouble of having to save them. Even though this may seem like an extreme way of killing oneself, it's possible that by killing oneself in this manner you might actually be able to save the people who love you most in this world.
