The quote above is one of my favorites. Sometimes it’s nice to hear someone say not only "I love you" but also "I'm going to carry you now, so we can move even faster. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. Any response from you is unnecessary and unwelcome." I know that I speak in the third person sometimes when I talk to my boyfriend, but when I hear him say that, he comes across as very strong and in control of the situation.
He's telling me that since he's doing all the heavy lifting in our relationship right now (he's the one who proposed, he's the one who put up with me for years while I was unhappy), he wants me to stop fighting him on every single issue. It seems like common courtesy, but it also seems very controlling.
