This is a short story about how Kat was caught by her father and held captive in the basement of his house. Her father was delighted because she was his child, even though she had caused him a lot of trouble. But when Kat cried, he let her cry. He let her cry out all the anger and pain she was feeling inside. And he let her use his sheets to wipe away the tears from her eyes and the snot from her nose. In the end, his love helped Kat to see that crying was not a bad thing.
