For example, the expression “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” is a paradox because you can’t have something and take it away at the same time.

You can’t eat and eat at the same time. This means that two opposing ideas or things cannot exist in the same situation at the same time. If we were living in a world without contradictions, we would all be living in perfect harmony with each other.
