About This Quote

This quote is attributed to Joan of Arc, the legendary French heroine who was burned at the stake in 1431. She was 19 years old when she was captured by English troops during the Hundred Years' War. Joan was tried for heresy for claiming to have had visions from God and speaking with the angels. She was found guilty of dressing like a man, fighting with men, and burning down her own village. She spent the rest of her life in prison.
