About This Quote

To be happy in this present moment, and put not off being so to a time to come--as though that time should be of another make from this which has already come and is ours. If we could only be happy in the present moment all of the time, we would have no reason to put off being happy. When we intend to be happy in the future, our happiness seems lighter than it does now, as though the light is coming from a distance. In order for us to be truly happy now, we have to put our happiness into the now.

We have to let go of the future and just be happy now. If we could do that, we would find that our experience of happiness becomes more and more intense.
