The things that make you special to others are often what makes you special to yourself. When I was younger, I would always consider myself completely pathetic. It didn't matter how many girls would hit on me or how popular I was, I still thought of myself as a loser. My friends would always say my sense of humour was funny and I could make anyone laugh.

I also had my own unique way of making people feel comfortable, even when they were in difficult situations. My girlfriend would always call my sense of humour “pathetic” and “helpless” but she never stopped loving me. She knew deep down inside that I was strong and could make it through anything life threw at me. She also knew that my sense of humour wasn't the only thing that made her fall for me, nor was it the only reason she loved me.
