The person torturing you is not happy because they are forcing you to feel pain, but they are unhappy because they cannot be with the person they love and they hate that fact that they can’t be in your life and in theirs. They don’t want to see you in pain and wish that they could be there for you when everything goes wrong, just like a good friend would do.
