A traditionalist’s values are gleaned from all that is good in the past.

About This Quote

Traditional values exist in the present because they have been passed down through generations. While they can be found in many cultures, their validity is not derived from their origin but from their usefulness. Today’s traditional values are based on the things that have worked for decades or longer. Without these values, society as a whole would not be as effective as it is now.

Now, those who want to change things from the past might say that those who want to keep those traditional values are holding onto outdated and useless things. These people believe that whatever has worked before should still work today because it has always worked before and it will continue to work forever.
