Burnout is nature's way of telling you, you've been going through the motions your soul has departed; you're a zombie, a member of the walking dead, a sleepwalker. False optimism is like administrating stimulants to an exhausted nervous system.

About This Quote

When we become exhausted from constant stress, we can become reactive and emotional. We can also become oversensitive and worry about everything that goes wrong. When we look at these two traits, we see that they are contrary to one another. An exhausted nervous system is supposed to be responsive and sensitive to the world around us.

It is supposed to be reactive and emotional. A false sense of optimism does not allow us to be responsive and sensitive to the world around us. Instead, we expect the worst and react in a way that is not in our best interest.

When we feel exhausted, we should instead work through our exhaustion by creating things that bring us joy. Instead of reacting emotionally when things go wrong, we should simply keep our cool and be hopeful that things will turn out for the best.
