This quote is about how people tend to believe that there is no God, but then it seems like everything happens for a reason. When something happens that may not be good, it is always rationalized by people who say that God had His hand in it. That even though God did allow something bad to happen, it was only because He wanted good to come out of it.

The problem with this explanation is that it makes God seem like an arbitrary being who does not care about the lives of people. It also reduces the value of human life by making its purpose seem so trivial.
