About This Quote

The Roman Empire was one of the greatest empires that had ever existed on Earth. It touched almost every region on Earth and possessed a huge armies, and was the first empire to control and expand over all of Europe and Egypt. However, its days were numbered. Its downfall began with the barbarian tribes that invaded from the north.

These tribes would be the “vandals” as they destroyed most of the Roman cities and began spreading their own religion as well as abolishing Christian rule. The final blow to the empire came when the Vandal ruler Genseric invaded Italy and captured Rome in 455 A.D.
