About This Quote

There was a time in this country’s history where we would use people to make examples of others. We would abuse and bully those who were different than us and we would celebrate those who were beaten down and made an example of by the very people who were supposed to protect and serve them. This mentality took hold and became the norm and we still struggle with it today. Today, we can choose to allow ourselves to be used as an example despite knowing that we will be harmed by doing so.

It’s just as easy as making mistakes, to give into temptation and do wrong, because it will hurt us no matter what we do. If we do wrong, the only thing that matters is what everyone else thinks about us.
