Sometimes when we say "God is silent, " what's really going on is that he hasn't told the story the way we wanted it told. He will be silent when we want him to fill in the blanks of the story we are creating. But with his own stories, the ones we live in, he is seldom silent. Paul E. Miller
About This Quote

When God is silent, it can be taken to mean that he does not respond. However, it's not that he's ignoring you; he's listening and will give you what you need when you need it. When we pray and ask God for something, we may expect an answer in the form of a quick and easy "yes" or "no." But any answer we get can easily become a part of our story. If we get an answer we don't like, we look at God as being unhelpful and unkind.

If we get an answer we like, we wonder if it was really meant for us. Maybe God has had another plan all along and just doesn't want to reveal that plan until the time is right. Or maybe God has had another plan that just happens to match your current plan.

Either way, it's important to be patient in receiving the answers in life.
