About This Quote

As soon as I read the first line of the quote, I knew it was talking about God. That’s because I can still recall the first time I felt so completely and utterly inspired and overwhelmed by the beauty and majesty of God. It was a few days after my first communion and I was on a walk with my family. We were taking one of those hikes we would take along the beach on pretty days, enjoying nature and feeling close to God.

As if it had always been there, I saw a small church off in the distance. I remember looking at it with awe as my family continued down toward our home. Looking back, it was probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life. As soon as we got closer, however, it became apparent that this church would not serve as a place where people could worship God.

It had been built for some purpose other than worshiping Him. Still, it afforded us a place to rest our weary bodies. So, that’s how we ended up at this little church that overlooked one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Florida.

But, still, no one was there to worship God…at least not there that day. After being seated in the pews, though, something happened that changed everything for me forever! Not only did the building look majestic from outside but once you stepped inside you could see why this place had been built for something other than worshiping God! Looking around me I saw statues of saints and angels everywhere! Even more amazing was seeing saints hanging around on various pieces of art! It was then that I realized just how much beauty there is in this world! It truly was amazing before but now I realized how truly breathtaking this world really was! As soon as these thoughts went through my head I knew exactly what this man must have felt like when he experienced his own moment of enlightenment! As he stood there looking out over his creation he must have felt like he was standing at the center of God’s universe…a universe that had been created just for him! When you feel like you are standing at the center of God’s universe you will never feel sad again. You will always know happiness because you know that things are good even when they seem bad to others. You will never worry about what may happen because you know things will work out if they are meant to be because even when they don’t seem possible things still
