This verse from the book of Proverbs, Chapter 31 is a beautiful poem that emphasizes the connection we feel with each other and with God. The words "thy people shall be my people and thy God my God" reveal the deep bond we all share with one another. Sadly, this verse does not seem to describe the world we live in today. Instead, we are told to leave this place and follow after that person or thing that we desire. What is missing from this verse is the idea that we might be able to find happiness here on earth if we can just open our hearts and minds to the possibilities of love and connection.
