He only proved that the theory was correct by setting up a system of mirrors and telescopes and then pointing them at each other and seeing what happened. Nothing happened and he knew it should because it contradicted the laws of physics. So he kept trying. He kept trying until he found out that the other law of gravity was true as well, and then Newton’s Laws were proven to be true.
