About This Quote

The relationship between truth and reason. When we analyze the world we look at the facts and take it for granted and come to a conclusion. But, what if we were to consider thoughts and feelings as well? The world would be a different place then. For example, if I’m sitting in a room with two friends and someone is talking about how they want to go on vacation but the other person is not feeling well? What would you do? Would you say “Well, I don’t feel very well myself, but I think you should go on vacation anyway.” Or would you say “I think you should go on vacation because you want to and this is what you feel like doing so go ahead and do it!” What is the difference between these two approaches? It really depends on how much of an influence your feelings have on your actions.

If your feelings are very strong then your action will be strong as well. If your feelings dictate your actions then nothing else matters. That's why when we're trying to make a decision such as going on vacation or not, we shouldn't focus solely on our reason but also our emotions.
