About This Quote

To spend your time on the truth is a rare thing, and I am one of those few, for to speak the truth, there are but few that care thus to spend their time, but choose rather to be speaking of things to no profit. As a writer of fiction, you have a responsibility to be truthful. This means you should not glamorize your characters or your ideas. In fact, you should never attempt to tell a story that does not have some truth behind it. If your story does not have a basis in reality or the truth, it will sputter out of life after a couple of sentences.
