About This Quote

Sometimes it takes a bit of imagination, or other times it takes the truth, to make a good story. When you are telling a story, you might not think everything is absolutely true. When you tell a story to make people laugh, entertain them or make them feel good, you might take some things out of context. If you are telling a story to teach people something important about life, you should be told the truth.

Otherwise, the story could actually make things worse for everyone. If someone tells a joke and it is funny but not true, it's still funny because it's so off the mark from reality. But when you tell a "true" joke and it isn't funny at all, no one laughs because they know the truth.
