In reality the universe has no geometry.

About This Quote

Not to be confused with the statement, “The universe has no geometry,” Einstein was saying that space and time are not fixed and fixed points in the universe do not exist. If they did, then we could never move forward because we could always reach back and touch them. To understand the full meaning of this quote, we must understand that it is based on our idea of what geometry is. We imagine geometry as a fixed system: a cube with six surfaces and twelve edges and three vertices.

That is not correct. Geometry is a flexible system: a road map of how we can get from here to there; a chart of what we can do with the materials we have at hand. In this metaphor, space-time is not a flat surface but a network of connections.

The fact that there are no fixed points in space-time does not mean that it is an impossible system to navigate or that it has no directions or limits. The navigator can use its network to find his way from one point to another while taking advantage of all the connections available along the way.
