Bodily passion, which has been so unjustly decried, compels its victims to display every vestige that is in them of unselfishness and generosity, and so effectively that they shine resplendent in the eyes of all beholders.

About This Quote

In the great scheme of things it is the body that attracts the most attention. The body is a powerful symbol that can have a profound effect on someone’s self-esteem, self-image and self-confidence. It doesn’t matter how many times a person has been let down in love, or what type of addiction they may be struggling with, if they have a good looking body, they will always attract the opposite sex. This quote from Sophocles seems to suggest that if we could only focus on our looks and our bodies could change for better then we would be able to attract the opposite sex. In this day and age where people are constantly bombarded by images of beautiful people in magazines, television and advertisements, it is hard not to believe that the world would be a much better place if we could all look like supermodels.
