If you're going to fall in love with anyone, fall in love with a writer. Allow yourself to become immortalised in words.

About This Quote

The first thing a writer needs to do is to be a great listener. A writer must listen to what his or her characters have to say. This will help them create new ideas. It will help them imagine new things that others have never thought of before.

In order to achieve all of this, writers have to sit down and just listen. They have to try and find their characters' voices and really imagine what they would say if they were talking. Only then can they start to write new poems, or stories, or novels about those characters.
