In this world, who can do a thing, will not; And who would do it, cannot, I perceive: Yet the will's somewhat – somewhat, too, the power –And thus we half-men struggle.

Robert Browning
About This Quote

In the world of human action, which we call the real world, we can often get what we want. But sometimes, we cannot get it and must settle for something else. Life is like that. Some people get what they want or believe they will get it.

But they don’t think it will happen and soon find out that it did not happen. Sometimes we do get what we want but we must settle for something else and sometimes we don’t get what we think we will get and must settle for something else. Through the course of life, some things turn out better than what we originally expected and some things turn out worse than what we originally expected.
