I think the reason why we don’t trust God is because we don’t see Him as any different than our other information. When we look at the Bible we only see the parts we feel we can trust and we don’t see the parts that aren’t viable or applicable in our lives. The Bible is just about everything that is out there in the world. It is all of the information that has come to us from God and it is all of the information that came from us.
