Though at opposite ends of our country, Maine and Hawaii are, other than climate, much alike. Places where you say who you are, be who you are, keep your word, and don't cheat or lie to take advantage of each other. Where you protect other folks because they are your tribe. Mike Bond
About This Quote

This quote is an explanation of the idea that while we live in different parts of the world, we should keep our word and value our bond to other people. There are two small towns in Maine that are very close to each other. When one person from each town leaves for a job, they both say their goodbyes and go their separate ways. As they head out on their new adventures and meet people from other tribes, they do so with respect for the other tribe and their beliefs.

The people of Hawaii did not appreciate the traveling businessmen who came to their islands and did not respect their beliefs. Consequently, the people of Maine went back home and the businessmen went back to Massachusetts.
