...we're not eighteen anymore. We've lived. We've created things that last — things of joy, and things of burden.

Dianna Hardy
About This Quote

When a person reaches a certain age, they don't have to pretend anymore. When you're eighteen years old, you have the freedom to do whatever you want. On your eighteenth birthday, when you can legally drink alcohol and drive, life is full of possibilities. But when you turn twenty-eight, twenty-nine or thirty, life is full of responsibilities.

You can no longer do whatever you want without worrying about the consequences. And that's okay. The world isn't going to end if you drive a little too fast one night and get a ticket.

That's not going to destroy everything that we've built together. It's okay to grow up and realize that our lives aren't going to be perfect forever. We're not eighteen anymore.

We've lived. We've created things that last – things of joy, and things of burden.
