The quote, “Usually, fundamentalists, be they Christian, Muslim, or any faith, shape and interpret religious thought to make it conform to and legitimize a conservative status quo” is not only an interesting read but also reminds me of the differences between my approach to God and that of people who are part of a particular religion. I believe that every religion was created by a prophet who was inspired by God. All prophets kept God's word as their own personal guide. They then taught the wisdom that is found in the Word of God to the people for generations for them to grow and learn from.

Today, some people are trying to re-interpret religious doctrine so they can use it to justify their opinion. How can you use something that has been given freely by someone else to subvert it? If you are so keen on using your own words to subvert what has been given freely by another person then why would you bother reading another person's work?
