serendipity is defined as "an event or circumstance that one does not seek or expect but by which one is pleasantly surprised". It is the mysterious moment when you accidentally stumble upon something that you don't even know you were looking for. For example, by chance, you find yourself walking on the beach and you see a small shell. You pick it up and find it is special.

You look at it and say to yourself, "Wow, this is pretty cool!" But what happens next is extraordinary! The shell opens up and out pops something completely unexpected. It could be a tiny bird or a tiny ladybug. It may be just an ordinary rock but just by looking at it, the stone becomes special to you.

Serendipity can happen with any situation or object. For example, if you are just walking down the street minding your own business then out of nowhere, someone walks up to you with a big smile on their face saying they have just won a large sum of money in the lottery. It could be someone asking for money so they can buy food for their family or simply someone who has won a prize in some type of contest.

Either way, your life changes forever because of serendipity!
