I don’t need immortality. The fear of death keeps a girl sharp. It helps us remember that what we do here, now, matters. What good is immortality, if you’re just a dirty little despot in some shitty corner of the world?

About This Quote

When you are young, you think that the only thing that matters in life is being immortal. You want to live forever, so that one day you can look back on your life and say that you have lived a good life. But, when I was young I didn’t understand what it meant to be immortal. I thought being immortal meant being able to live forever.

But immortality doesn’t mean living forever. Immortality is about making sure that your life is worth living, so that your actions can make a difference. That’s why I’m not afraid of death.
