People in that crowd want to make poverty history, but NOT if they have to pay for it themselves

Ben Elton
About This Quote

The people in this crowd want to make poverty history, but NOT if they have to pay for it themselves. This is the way I feel. I see people who are broke and can’t afford to help me, they would rather sit around and complain that they can’t help me than actually try. These are the same people who say that “the rich” aren’t doing anything about the problems of the poor.

These are the same people who don’t think that the government has done enough for them. They make it sound like they are all alone in their plight when they are not. But, these people will stand on their soap boxes and make it seem like no one cares about them or helps them.
