About This Quote

The Presocratics, a school of Greek philosophers who flourished from roughly 600 BC to 400 BC, were a philosophical movement founded in the city of Miletus by Thales. Their philosophy was concerned with the nature of being and knowledge. The Presocratics' main concern was understanding how beings exist within the universe and knowing that there was a single, universal order to existence. They believed that shared shared all knowledge and that there was one being who existed beyond all others. In other words, they believed in the existence of God.
