It is closer to the truth to say that God is crazy than that God is reasonable. I suspect God merely smiles when someone calls him crazy, but shakes His head and frowns when someone calls Him reasonable.

About This Quote

The greatest glory of God is that He is not reasonable, but He is crazy. The saying, “It is closer to the truth to say that God is crazy than that God is reasonable” means that we should not be ashamed of the things we believe. If we truly believe in God then we should realize that there is no way that we can truly understand Him and His ways. We do not know the reason for everything that happens around us and every person on the planet believes something different.

Even those who believe in God do not always believe the same thing. The word crazy here does not mean crazy as in insane, but crazy as in out of control. When we think about it, it makes sense to think about God as being out of control because we do not know what He is thinking and why He does things the way He does them.

Perhaps this means that we should just accept His actions without questioning them and just keep on loving Him regardless of the uncertainty and mystery surrounding him.
