Troy and I loved each other. We called it 'unconditional love', which was true. Once conditions arose, the love dissipated.

About This Quote

In his book, The Little Prince, the French author Antoine De Saint-Exupéry tells the story of a little boy who is given a frog as a pet. The boy and his frog become very close, but one day the boy is sent to boarding school and the frog is left behind. When he returns home years later, he finds that his frog is dead and that it never met anyone else, making it its alone. The boy is saddened by this and he decides to take the frog's hand and fly away with him. But as they begin their journey, the boy says: "But what shall we do?" "I don't know," replied his friend, "but if we don't do something now, we'll never have done anything at all." This lesson remains with me to this day: we must learn to live without conditions and be with people unconditionally.
