I wouldn’t be a good wife, but I would be a wife in a way that was cinematically compelling.

About This Quote

There are two things that Margaret said in the movie "The Sessions" which I found very intriguing. The first one is when she talks about her lover, Mark. She says that he wouldn’t be a good husband but he would be a husband in a way that was cinematically compelling. That means that he would be good in the eyes of the audience, just like any other husband would be.

The second one is when she says to her doctor, Dr. Mabley, “I’m not acting, I’m just being me.” This means that she is not doing what other people do because she has to do it for the movie. What she does in the movie is not what she usually does in everyday life and this is why we should respect and appreciate her for who and how she is, not what people expect her to be or how others want her to be.
