One's suffering, one's melancholy is, in itself, really only looked upon as failure or as punishment, as detestable or sinful or socially unacceptable in the eyes of man; but this is not so in the eyes of God: for He is close to the broken-hearted.

About This Quote

The Bible tells us that "God is close to the broken-hearted." The Bible also tells us that God is not willing for anyone to be in torment. That's why Jesus came to Earth and died on a cross. The Bible also tells us that Jesus is the only one who can save us from our suffering. And, that's why Jesus told His disciples that they would be persecuted for His name.

We are all suffering now. Whether it be physical or emotional suffering, we are all suffering. But, Jesus said that He will take away all of our suffering.

That's what makes Jesus the only true God because He is always there for us.
