Life is full of great experiences, but most people are unable to follow them up with great memories. For instance, I recently read about a woman who came home from her first day at work only to find her husband in bed with another woman. The man then proceeded to stab his wife in the chest with a knife. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to thirty-five years in prison.

The woman has since moved on, married again and has children. She has no strong memory or feelings of regret toward her husband’s actions. Why? She had no reason to think that she had ever loved him in the first place.
