But, his finer emotions are what he gets in response. For example, if man is happy, Nature will make him sad or angry.

The things he feels are not his own, but rather something he receives from outside of himself. It is only natural, therefore, that man would be unable to stay happy when he faces these feelings. He must feel them because they are part of the world around him.
